Finch Elementary will hold a Blood Drive from 3 to 7 p.m. May 27 in the Finch Cafeteria.
All individuals 18 years of age and older are encouraged to donate blood.
All donations will be documented for the account of Katheryne Becerra, a kindergarten student currently receiving treatment for non-Hodgkins lymphoma. All qualified donors are welcome.

Orchestra students
Texas Music Scholars
Four McKinney ISD students were honored as Texas Music Scholars at an awards ceremony on May 16 at McKinney Boyd High School.
The students selected were Jennifer Ding, ninth grade from McKinney Boyd High School, Violin; JiSu Lee, ninth grade from McKinney Boyd High School, Cello; Jimmy Moon, ninth grade from McKinney Boyd High School, Violin and Jenney Ruby, ninth grade from McKinney High School, Violin.
The students were nominated for this honor by their director, Roth Kurtis. The award is given by the Texas Music Educators Association, which sponsors the Texas All-State Bands, Orchestras and Choirs.
Last year, 1,363 students were named as Texas Music Scholars.
Boyd honors
‘First in Family’
Boyd High School honored 14 students on May 22 for the achievement of being the first person in their family to graduate from High School.
The Boyd graduates are Amber Bishop, Jose Colmenero, Yainette Dieppa, Maria Ferrer, Crystal Gwin, Alejandra Mancera, Jeanette Martinez, Job Martinez, Jonathan Martinez, Jeff Munoz, Mayra Peralta, Erik Renteria, Noemi Gonzalez and Jose Diosdado.
MEF plans evening
of scholarship awards
The McKinney Education Foundation will have its scholarship awards evening at 6:30 p.m. Friday at McKinney Fellowship Bible Church, 2801 Orchid Drive.
Seniors graduating from McKinney High, McKinney North, McKinney Boyd and Serenity High will receive scholarships from $500 to $10,000 at the ceremony.”
